Notes: The following section are intented to improve our understanding of how risks are perceived in the general public. The goal is to highlight, from both a psychological and sociological standpoint, the structures and processes of personal risk perception and how society deals with risk. A brief outline of current risk issues is followed by an explanation of intuitive risk perception, in which the main focus is placed on the cognitive and effective aspects of perception process.
