<abstract>A partir del 11 de septiembre de 1998, fecha en que una Orden Ministerial transponía la Directiva 97-69-CE, las "fibras vítreas artificiales" que cumpliesen algunos de los requisitos físico-químicos reflejados en la nota de dicha Directiva quedaban excluidas de las clasificación como sustancias cancerígenas. Como consecuencias de todo ello, las lanas minerales aislantes han pasado a considerarse "partículas no clasificadas de otra forma", y como tales entran de lleno dentro de los límites de exposición profesional para agentes químicos que fija todos los años el Instituto Nacional de Seguridad e Higiene en el Trabajo</abstract>
