The pricing cycle in the commercial lines insurance market is continuing, but the new cycle may be less extreme. Strength of surplus will dampen the need for sharp premium increases, while concentration of business in a smaller number of carriers and concerns about financial security and investment returns for shareholders should help to restrain the soft market
