<abstract>El seguro privado en Polonia es joven; comenzó a regirse por las reglas del mercado tras el cambio de régimen político en 1989. Hasta entonces, sólo operaban dos entidades. En 1990, entre en vigor la Ley de Actividad Aseguradora y se sientan sus bases. La entrada en la Unión Europea le dará un nuevo impulso.
