<abstract>En este artículo la autora refleja la estrecha relación existente entre la institución aseguradora y el bienestar económico-social de la población, así como la estructura y el desarrollo económico. Estudia la institución aseguradora como instrumento de ahorro y previsión, y lo hace en sus dos vertientes, de captación de fondos y de inversor institucional. Aporta, partiendo de una descripción de las características socio-económicas de España, su propio punto de vista sobre el futuro del sector asegurador, destacando el papel que jugarán en él la sociedad y los poderes públicos</abstract>
