<abstract>Una rápida recuperación de los daños causados por catástrofes de la naturaleza representa un gran desafío, en especial para economías en vías de desarrollo, las cuales se caracterizan por su baja tasa de cobertura de seguro. Dadas las limitaciones técnicas del seguro tradicional para llegar a estas partes desprotegidas de la población, es necesario recurrir a ideas innovadoras que permitan acceder de manera eficiente a los mercados de seguros y capitales</abstract>
