<abstract displayLabel="Summary">La situación al borde de la quiebra de Bear Stearns y la caída de Lehman Brothers, en 2008, ha provocado los mayores cambios en los mercados financieros desde la crisis de 1929, afectando a todos los participantes del sistema financiero. A pesar de las divergencias sobre cómo llevar a cabo algunas de las reformas más delicadas y complejas, políticos, reguladores, mercados e instituciones financieras convergen en torno a una misma idea: ia necesidad de potenciar la transparencia y de contar con sistemas gestión de riesgos como medio de si no evitar, al menos reducir el impacto de una posible nueva crisis financiera. El tiempo y los acontecimientos vividos por los mercados OTC en los últimos dos años han acabado dando la razón a los mercados regulados, que en medio de la crisis han seguido proporcionado transparencia, liquidez y seguridad a un sistema financiero muy agitado.</abstract>
