Al vertido de petróleo en el golfo de México se sumaron los terremotos, las lluvias torrenciales, los incendios forestales y el vertido de residuos tóxicos ocurrido en Hungría. La mancha cubrió un área de 40 km2 y alcanzó el río Danubio.</abstract>
