<dc:description xml:lang="es">Sumario: Risk can be defined as the product of the likelihood of a failure and its consequences. Reliability based inspection (RBI) is intended to be a simple, logical, repeatable, documented method of determining equipment inspection frequencies and inspection scopes/methods and can be an effective tool for developing an efficient equipment inspection program, optimizing inspection frequencies and scope. Within the context of this report, reliability may be defined as the ability of an item to perform a required function under stated conditions for a stated period of time; the stated conditions and stated period of time are important qualifiers. RBI is a method for using risk as a basis for prioritizing and managing the efforts of an Inspection Management Program</dc:description>
