<abstract displayLabel="Summary">La percepción que el mercado asegurador tiene de la nanotecnología puede afectar la sostenibilidad del progreso tecnológico. A fin de analizar cómo perciben los riesgos de la nanotecnología y los nanomateriales las compañías aseguradoras, se aplicaron métodos combinados de encuesta y entrevista. Los autores Lijana Baublyte, Martin Mullins, Finbarr Murphy y Syed A.M. Tofail -de la Universidad de Limerick, República de Irlanda- observaron que las aseguradoras se preocupan menos que los científicos por algunos riesgos de la nanotecnología.
