<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Este artículo revisa brevemente la actuación del BCE desde mediados de 2014, cuando la autoridad monetaria inició una nueva fase de política monetaria expansiva. Además de adentrarse en el terreno de los tipos de interés negativos, el BCE desplegó otras medidas no convencionales como la expansión de su balance y la guía de expectativas (forward guidance) para superar las restricciones derivadas de la proximidad de los tipos de interés oficiales a su cota inferior efectiva. Asimismo, se ilustra su transmisión efectiva a las condiciones financieras, el crecimiento económico y la inflación en el área del euro. Finalmente, se discute la posible repercusión de la política monetaria expansiva sobre la situación financiera del sector
bancario.</abstract>
