<abstract displayLabel="Summary">El sector del transporte representa en torno al 4% del PIB en España y da trabajo alrededor de un 4,4% de la población activa ocupada. La radiografía del sector nos muestra el escaso peso que sigue teniendo en el transporte de mercancías el modo ferroviario frente a la carretera y la importancia del vehículo privado en los desplazamientos tanto urbanos como interurbanos, aunque el transporte público sigue siendo indispensable para la movilidad en las grandes urbes. El principal reto que tiene que abordar todo el sector del transporte es el de la descarbonización de la economía. Una cuarta parte de las emisiones de GEI provienen del sector del transporte; el 70%, a su vez, del transporte por carretera y de esta, el 94% de los vehículos particulares</abstract>
