<abstract displayLabel="Summary">En 2019, los daños económicos causados por catástrofes, estimados en 146 000 millones de USD, fueron inferiores a los de los dos años anteriores debido a la ausencia de grandes huracanes en EE. UU. El seguro cubrió daños por valor de 60 000 millones de USD, una cifra por debajo del promedio anual de 75 000 millones de USD de los 10 años anteriores. De los daños asegurados del año pasado, 52 000 millones de USD correspondían a catástrofes naturales. Los tifones Hagibis y Faxai que azotaron Japón fueron las catástrofes que más daños ocasionaron en 2019 en todo el mundo.</abstract>
