<dc:description xml:lang="es">Sumario: In the transition to a net-zero emission European energy system, Gasfor Climate sees a key role for hydrogen. Leveraging Europe's well connected energy networks, hydrogen can be transported through a dedicated hydrogen pipeline infrastructure. Such a European Hydrogen Backbone can connect supply and demand across longer distances in a cost-effective manner. This infrastructure will enable the creation of a liquid, pan-European hydrogen market. Creating the hydrogen backbone requires a regulatory framework that provides clarity to hydrogen market participants, infrastructure companies, and investors. The European Commission is expected to propose an EU legislative framework for hydrogen towards the end of 2021. In this paper, the Gas for Climate consortium explores how the upcoming egislation can help to accelerate the creation of dedicated hydrogen pipeline infrastructure across Europe.</dc:description>
