<abstract displayLabel="Summary">El presente trabajo está encaminado a examinar, aunque brevemente, los efectos de los riesgos medioambientales, la gestión de éstos y sus características con el fin de mantener y preservar los recursos naturales frente a una eventual degradación de éstos. Son muchas las acepciones y aplicaciones que se dan al concepto de riesgo, destacando las referidas al daño ambiental, por ello tratamos de resaltar la importancia de su gestión, de determinar su naturaleza, el contexto donde se produce, y qué partes han intervenido. Igualmente analizamos las diferentes coberturas que ofrecen los diversos tipos de seguros que puedan servir para cubrir las distintas responsabilidades que se deriven de un siniestro ambiental, en concreto las tipificadas en la LRM referidas a las Garantías Financieras Obligatorias</abstract>
