Sumario: The catalog is a major retrospective of more than 200 works, many of which had remained unpublished. The portraits of Judith Joy Ross (Haztelon, 1946) are characterized by closeness. Ross does not wander the streets in search of a motif to capture, nor does she bring her subjects into her studio. Her way of working usually consists, as she herself states, of seeking "occasions" on previously chosen subjects: Eurana Park, visitors to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, members of Congress during the Iran-Contra scandal (Irangate), children in Hazleton public schools or specific places such as Easton, Pennsylvania, the state where she was born, grew up and still lives today
