This month we examine how software is changing insurance delivery, and how insurers are connecting to a new generation of travellers and meeting their insurance needs. Cultural differences between assistance providers and healthcare facilities can either complicate or facilitate great patient care we look at the importance of understanding local culture, and what can go wrong when you ignore it. We also look at international healthcare services in China, and consider the fact that expats and tourists may not be familiar with the local healthcare system, and will need guidance from their insurer and assistance partner. We detail the main stumbling blocks and offer solutions. In the second part of our legal assistance benefit examination, Richard D Atkins and Laurence M Levin, both from International Recoveries, look at the issues many students face when abroad, and why they are so vulnerable
