520  ‎$a‎The study evaluates the impact of Nursing Outpatient Clinics (NOCs) on adherence to diabetes clinical guidelines among elderly patients in Italy's Emilia-Romagna region. Using a balanced panel of administrative data from 2010 to 2016 and difference-in-differences methods, the research examines whether integrating nursing support into primary care improves compliance with recommended follow-up tests for type 2 diabetes patients over 65. Results show that patients whose general practitioners collaborate with NOCs exhibit significantly higher adherence to clinical guidelines, particularly in the first two years after implementation. The findings highlight the importance of multidisciplinary care models in managing chronic diseases in ageing populations and suggest that nursing support can enhance patient engagement and reduce complications.
