<dc:description xml:lang="es">Sumario: The article analyzes whether older adults in Canada benefited in terms of consumption and public transfers at the expense of younger generations between 1997 and 2017, using the National Transfer Accounts (NTA) methodology. It develops a theoretical framework to apply NTA at the subnational level and presents results for five Canadian regions. The findings show that interregional transfers reduce disparities and that per capita consumption among older adults remained stable relative to that of younger people. In addition, net public transfers to older adults declined compared with those to younger generations, indicating that there was no generational bias in the allocation of resources</dc:description>
