<abstract displayLabel="Summary">El radón es un gas radioactivo, invisible, inodoro, que se presenta en forma natural. Está presente en cualquier parte, en la mayoría de los suelos. El problema, por consiguiente, no estriba en saber si un edificio tiene radón, sino en qué cantidad lo posee. Las reglamentaciones de la Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recomiendan que las concentraciones de radón, como promedio anual, no deben ser mayores de 4 pico-Curios por litro de aire (4pCi-L).Una de las responsabilidades que tiene el profesional de la prevención de accidentes es asegurarse de que los lugares de trabajo sean sanos y seguros. Los autores proponen la necesidad de establecer un programa de medición del radón elaborando, previamente, un proyecto donde se encuentren las distintas estrategias y las técnicas de medición que se vayan a seguir</abstract>
