<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Initialement, le filtre de pondération A, qui équipe les sonomètres, était un filtre en fréquences conçu pour mesurer la "sonie" de bruits de différentes compositions spectrales et de faibles intensités. Par la suite, en considérant les déficits auditifs temporaires induits par le bruit, il est apparu que la pondération A pouvait également rendre compte de la nocivité, pour l'ouïe, des bruit industriels de forte intensité et de différentes compositions spectrales. La pondération A tendrait à sous-estimer la nocivité des bruits en basses fréquences</abstract>
