      <subfield code="a">To evaluate the long term effect of exposure to quartz, it is investigated in the present study the time dependence of the inflammatory and fibrotic responses in rats during one year using the bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) tecnique. The intensity of the inflammatory and fibrotic reaction was estimated by measuring markers such as cell numbers, and albumin, hyaluronan, fibronectin, and phospholipid concentrations.
