<subfield code="a">The purpose of this investigation was to complete the results obtained from a previous study in which the average isocyanate levels present in the factory atmosphere were below the MAC value. While bronchitic and asthmatic symptoms and allergic reactions were not abnormally frequent under those conditions, pulmonary function tets showed a reduction in vital capacity and a decrease in the diffusion constant in subjects who had worked longest in places directly exposed to isocyanates</subfield>
