Sumario: The purpose of the field research reported in this paper was to investigate the accuracy of such investigative surveys using hand-held precision integrating sounds meters. The results of five 1-day surveys are compared with repeat noise dosimetry carried out over one month for a population of engineering and foundry workers. First, however it is necessary to considerer the problems encountered when comparing the results of noise exposures measured by different measurement methods
