<abstract displayLabel="Summary">The gas collection efficiency on prebake cells has become of prime importance in the aluminum industry because it affects both worker exposure inside the cell room and emissions to the environment. Gas collection efficiency was measured on a scale model of a prebake cell with the hood either closed or partially open. The results were interpreted by theorical considerations which lead to two mathematical equations for the gas collection efficiency</abstract>
