<dc:description xml:lang="es">Sumario: Increased risk of lung cancer has been shown to occur in several studies of iron foundry workers. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons may be an aetiological factor. Exposure to carcinogenic chemicals can be evaluated by measuring covalent binding with macromolecular targets, DNA, and proteins. As target tissue is not ussually available several surrogate materials have been studied. 1-Hydroxypyrene, a urinary metabolite of pyrene, has recnetly been used as to monitor PAH exposure in humans</dc:description>
