<abstract displayLabel="Summary">En este artículo se intenta valorar las implicaciones que los resultados de la Ronda Uruguay tendrán para la Unión Europea (UE). Considera el autor que en estas negociaciones la UE ha conseguido, en términos generales, los objetivos perseguidos, a pesar de que los resultados no sean equivalentes en todos los ámbitos. La agricultura y el textil y el vestido son sectores donde la UE ha tenido que negociar fuertemente porque estaban altamente protegidos, aunque ya requerían una reestructuración, al margen de las exigencias del GATT. Se resalta también la importancia que para la UE tienen los acuerdos alcanzados en el ámbito de las reglas y las disciplinas del GATT, que aportan una mayor seguridad y certeza en el cumplimiento de las normas que regulan el sistema comercial multilateral</abstract>
