<abstract displayLabel="Summary">The purpose of the present study was to assess the effects of respirator wear alone on cognitive performance. Since the psychological effects of respirator wear are considered to be more pronounced at low work rates due to a wearer's increased awareness of the mask, this study was designed to provide a baseline estimate of the cognitive effects associated with respirators in the absence of other stressors</abstract>
