<abstract>Worlwide kidnappings for ransom in 1999 reached a record peak, the latest survey released today by specialist insurer, the Hiscox Group, shows. Latin America, for the ninth year running, is the worst region in the world for kidnappings. Hiscox works with the Control Risk Group, who provide the services of the world's most experienced kidnap response team.
