<abstract>Los actuales escándalos financieros han puesto de manifiesto la falta de fiabilidad de la información emitida por las empresas en mercados de capitales internacionales. El artículo analiza los valores de resultado neto y fondos propios suministrados por multinacionales europeas según dos normativas: la local y la emericana. El análisis resalta las barreras más importantes a la comparabilidad de estas variables fundamentales calculadas según distintas normativas contables y subraya la importancia que factores como el país, el sector, o el tamaño, tienen en estas variables contables de empresas multinacionales cotizadas</abstract>
