<abstract>El presente trabajo analiza las razones de la escasa presencia de las empresas españolas en los nuevos Estados Miembros de la UE, con el objetivo de diseñar políticas adecuadas que soslayen este déficit. Para ello, tras un breve repaso del patrón geográfico y sectorial de la inversión española con los países de la Europa central y oriental, se señala cuáles son las principales características que hacen a estos países atractivos para la inversión</abstract>
