<abstract>Se analiza la entidad de la fragmentación internacional de la producción en la industria española, poniendo de manifiesto su creciente implantación durante el período 1995-2004. El fenómeno alcanza mayor relevancia en las ramas de alto contenido tecnológico, especialmente en maquinaria de oficina y ordenadores, material electrónico y vehículos a motor; también es destacable su incidencia en sector textil, confección, madera y muebles. La comparación con otras economías europeas refleja el dinamismo de las empresas industriales españolas en la adopción de la estrategia.</abstract>
