520  ‎$a‎This article provides a systematic review of how IoT technologies are reshaping risk prevention and insurance demand. By examining 74 academic and industry studies, it shows that sensors, wearables, telematics, smart-home devices, cybersecurity tools and satellite data enable earlier risk detection, automated responses and more granular pricing models. While IoT adoption brings benefits such as fewer claims, personalized services and fairer premiums, it also introduces challenges, including privacy concerns, cybersecurity vulnerabilities and technological complexity. Overall, the article concludes that IoT shifts insurers toward a prevention-focused role and transforms traditional demand models by incentivizing safer behaviors and redefining the cost-benefit balance for both insurers and policyholders
