<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Les observations cliniques, au cours des dix dernières années, font état, dans ce secteur, d'un nombre toujours inquiétant de cancers cutanés, broncho-pulmonaires et des voies aérodigestives supérieures. Aussi, il a paru intéressant d'effectuer une enquête métrologique, dans six entreprises sur le niveaux d'exposition aux hydrocarbures polycycliques aromatiques (HPA). Après une présentation de la stratégie de prélèvement, de la méthode analytique et des résultats de mesure, les auteurs font observer que les fabriques de boulets de charbon comportent des postes de travail où les expositions aux HPA sont très fortes (du même ordre de grandeur que celles rencontrées par exemple au sommet des batteries de fours à coke). Des mesures de prévention au dérochage sont nécessaires et un suivi médical est indispensable pour le dépistage des tumeurs au stade initial</abstract>
