However, there is growing evidence to suggest that one market-based solution could address theseimportant issues and increase empowerment by ensuring a household and business safety net. Insurance products for low-income womenhave the potential to help close the gender gap in fi nancial services and improve women's health and economic standing across the globe,while also providing a new source of premium income for insurance carriers.</abstract>
