520  ‎$a‎You are sick of Solvency II. I wanted to use an alternative word in the title since I know that the mere sight of it will probably encourage you to bin the article before you read it. However, there is no place to hide, and failure to read the article could, in its own right, be a contravention of the Solvency II requirements! There is light at the end of the tunnel, so please read on. In Europe, a huge amount of effort and investment is being focused on Solvency II and, more globally, on enterprise risk management (ERM). Solvency II is a standing agenda item for virtually all insurance company board (boards of directors/supervisory boards) meetings, but many are asking whether the time and effort spent on this is proportionate to the value that is being created. Or is it really a distraction from the difficult job of running the business
