<abstract displayLabel="Summary">COVID-19 has had a major impact on life insurance, which has traditionally been dependent on face-to-face sales. Further, the importance of having protection at this critical time is balanced by the financial pressure of paying premiums at a time where the economy might be facing strong headwinds, leading many customers to wrestle with the choice between keeping their policies or focusing on necessities. Asia Insurance Review spoke to the Life Insurance Association of Japan to find out how Japanese life insurers have adapted to help the customer during this pandemic. </abstract>
