The paper reviews approaches to estimate marginal utility, including subjective wellbeing, risk aversion, intertemporal choices, and tax schedules, highlighting their limitations. It also examines heterogeneity in utility functions and age-based weighting, discussing implications for fairness and social welfare functions.
