<dc:description xml:lang="es">Sumario: This study examines how levels of impatience among older adults, measured by their discount rates, influence their financial resilience following the COVID-19 pandemic. Using representative survey data on older Americans, the study finds that discount rates vary by race and gender, and that financial literacy is associated with greater patience. Individuals who were more patient before the pandemic displayed greater financial resilience by 2025. The results confirm that discount rates are relatively stable on average, although there is substantial individual variation. Racial and gender differences are significant, and financial education plays a key role in economic preparedness</dc:description>
