A quasi-difference-in-differences analysis confirms extra premiums significantly reduce loss ratios. Additionally, insureds with pre-existing conditions receive lower coverage, while those passing medical exams obtain higher coverage. Residual correlation tests reveal evidence of adverse selection, but underwriting practices mitigate its effects.
