Drawing on data from 21 countries, it examines the long-term costs of unpaid caregiving, ageism and unaffordable housing, and quantifies the potential benefits of three preventive interventions: adapting homes to prevent falls, increasing physical activity to reduce type 2 diabetes and expanding access to hearing aids to mitigate dementia risk. It argues that coordinated action by governments, employers, financial institutions and healthcare providers can generate significant healthcare savings, productivity gains and improvements in financial resilience and healthy longevity</abstract>
