Sumario: The Symposium was convened to review the scientific evidence regarding occupational exposures to man-made mineral fibres (MMMF) and their biological effects. The growing use of MMMF and the well documented carcinogenic effects of asbestos has caused wide concern with regard to the health effects of exposure to MMMF.
