<abstract displayLabel="Summary">La globalización de la economía y la información se percibe en todos los sectores de negocio, y por tanto en el sector asegurador, como una amenaza para la supervivencia de las empresas y a la vez como una oportunidad para buscar nuevas vías. Así, el autor presenta sus reflexiones sobre el cambio que debe realizarse ante la globalización de los mercados de seguros: acabar las reestructuraciones en curso, aprovechar la apertura de mercados, adaptarse a las necesidades de los asegurados, buscar el mejor equilibrio posible entre rentabilidad y solvencia, utilizar de forma óptima las posibilidades ofrecidas por la integración de los mercados de capitales y por la llegada del euro y reforzar la experiencia en la gestión de los riesgos a largo plazo y en la segmentación de los mercados</abstract>
