Litigating legal disputes generally involves a lot of risk with little , if any, reward. Even minor lawsuits can drag on for years and swoly erode any remaining good will between the litigants. Court statistics show that only a small percentage of law suits are actually decided in court. The vast majority up end being settled otherwise. So the idea of having one's "day in court" is largely a misconception, and an expensive one at that
