<abstract>En repetidas ocasiones, el crecimiento económico de los mercados emergentes ha dejado a la zaga al de los países industrializados. A la par de la creciente importancia de las economías de los mercados emergentes, su sector de seguro tambien está captando mayor atención, debido, no en última instancia, a la notable expansión experimentada recientemente: en los últimos 10 años, las primas de vida y no-vida de los mercados emergentes registaron un crecimiento anual real de un 10,4% y un 7,3%, respectivamente; en los países industrializados, en cambio, dicho aumento fue de un 3,4% y un 2,6%</abstract>
