The Bismarck's pension trap is a system to provide old-age security based on an inadequate if not increasingly meaningless measure, the chronological age of the person. It has been kept constant fo more than 100 years. This work analyses this system, and discuss the issue in more detail and its relationship with the life-cycle, the life expectancy, the pension models and the integration of the ederly on adequate labour markets conditions for their participation
