<abstract>Los trabajadores de construcción o agricultura se encuentran expuestos a ciertos riesgos por trabajar al aire libre, como por ejemplo, el estrés térmico. Para cuantificar el gasto energético de las actividades que se realizan en estos sectores se puede emplear el concepto de tasa metabólica, que proporciona un índice numérico de actividad sobre el que adoptar medidas concretas de prevención.</abstract>
