<abstract>En todo reaseguro, el contrato constituye, sin duda, una fuente formal y autónoma de toda relación reaseguradora, tal vez la más esencial en atencíon al principio de libertad de pacto que debe regir. No obstante, el propio contrato no es ni mucho menos la única fuente. Tanto la ley como la costumbre son fuentes de información útiles. Esta ponencia se centra en el artículo 79 de la Ley de Contrato de Seguro, en lo referente a normalización y legislación sobre aplicaciones y mandatos en el contrato de reaseguro</abstract>
