The ageing of the population: an economic and social chance

Ageingnomics Research Center in colaboration with Sigma Dos, has published the silver maket company Monitor in Spain 2023, an annual monitoring of the companies that have strategies and policies for services and products in relation to people over 55 in our contry.

 ¿Who is taking part in the grey hair generation? 

Those who are between 55 and 75 years and have health and life quality of life for continuing contributing to society with their talent, social work or their consumption capacity.

¿What determines if a company is targeting the silver sector?

For a company to be considered as a silver company, must offer to the senior group one of these for aspects:

- Differentiated goods and services.

- Marketing, positioning or content campaigns.

- Tariffs y discounts or other tipes of advantages on goods and services.

- Specific communication channels or preferential attention services.

Also, in this study are included success stories of pymes and startups with initiatives for senior citizens as diverse as digital, consultancy, training, real state management and administration, health and social healthcare services. Discover them!

The actions carried out by the Ageingnomics Research Center help citizens and institutions to make the most appropiate decisions for extending working life, improve the life of elderly with new solutions, but also for saving more in anticipation of a long old age, and to invest more in proyects that help the elderly population.

To this purpose, between other activities the Ageingnomics Center, produces accesible documents for the public such as guides for senior entrepreneurship or active ageing and documents that monitor consumption (Senior consumer barometer), the labour market (Senior talent map), supplying companies (Monitor of companies in the silver economy) and the administrations themselves (Ranking of territories for the senior economy).
