<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Con el término inteligencia artificial se designa una pretensión que los seres humanos llevan arrastrando desde hace tiempo. La especie humana se ha servido de instrumentos con los que ha ido construyendo su civilización, ha levantado ciudades, ha circunnavegado la Tierra y ha viajado a otros planetas. El reto último de la humanidad, en cuanto a sus instrumentos se refiere, es hacer que éstos puedan valerse por sí mismos; es decir, dotarlos de la facultad del pensamiento y la razón. La inteligencia artificial se traduce en el intento de trasladar la facultad del pensamiento inteligente, propio de los seres humanos, a las máquinas que éstos construyen</abstract>
